The Comms Hub
The messaging programme is designed to support progressives to develop powerful messaging that engages our base, persuades new audiences, and changes the conversation long-term.
We develop practical, easy-to-use messaging guides designed to help you to tell stories that build public understanding, support and demand for change - on issues ranging from climate justice to social security. Drawing on the latest tested framing and messaging research, we regularly publish guides on key new economy policy areas and in response to breaking news stories. (You can find the full directory of guides below.)
We also deliver regular messaging training to groups and spokespeople across the movement. Find out about current training opportunities here.
We’re here to help progressives to hone their messages and develop winning narrative strategies. If you are interested in co-creating a guide or would like feedback on your messaging, send a mail to hannah@neweconomyorganisers.org. To receive news of our latest messaging guides and guidance, apply to join the progressive comms network here.
Our approach to messaging is grounded in tried and tested framing, narrative and messaging research, methods tools and techniques – and animated by our understanding of what it takes to land media bookings, grow audiences and build movements in practice.
In particular, our approach is anchored by the methods and findings of two key projects: Framing the Economy, conducted in partnership with the New Economics Foundation, the FrameWorks Institute, and PIRC; and the UK Race Class Narrative project, authored by Raquel Jesse and developed by CLASS UK and ASO Communications. Our work also incorporates learnings from the widely-tested US Race Class and Gender Narrative, led by We Make the Future and ASO Communications.
