NEON’s home is the New Economy Movement. It’s who we are. But when it comes to winning and building on an economy that serves the interests of people and planet, we believe in the importance of a range of social movements and organisations, deploying varied approaches to change and making demands that together point the way towards systemic economic transformation. So as part of our new strategy we’ve chosen these four ‘battlegrounds’ where we’ll focus our resources over the next few years.
These are critical areas where some of the most important work is being done to create a new economy, and where there are opportunities for wins or a pressing need to defend what’s already won.
These are also areas where we feel NEON can play a strategic and valuable role in strengthening movements - building on our previous work, using the full range of our capacity-building tools and working in strategic partnership with allies to make impactful interventions.
We know there are many other critical issues alongside these, and at times we’ll work with organisations and movements doing vital work on them.
But we can’t and shouldn’t try to do everything, and by focusing our resources we can increase our impact. That’s why we’ve chosen these battlegrounds.
